Stinger Baseball ends record setting season and looks forward to playoffs
Florence-Darlington Technical College Baseball capped off another historic regular season, finishing with a 46–10 record for the third consecutive year—a program record that further solidifies the Stingers as one of the premier teams in junior college baseball.
Consistently ranked in the top 10 nationally throughout the season, Florence-Darlington combined dominant pitching, explosive offense, and steady defense to build one of its most complete campaigns to date.
The Stingers opened the season in impressive fashion, capturing the Panama City Beach Tournament championship with a 4–0 record. That early success sparked an 11-game winning streak from January 29 through February 17—the longest of the season. Florence-Darlington matched that feat later in the year with another 11-game streak from February 24 through March 13, showcasing their ability to sustain momentum across multiple stretches of the schedule.
Offensively, Tristan Strickland emerged as one of the most dangerous hitters in the lineup. He earned National Player of the Week honors (March 29–April 4) after homering in five consecutive games and was later named First Team All-Region as an outfielder. Gabe Herold also earned First Team All-Region honors as an infielder, while Onell Feliz was recognized as the First Team All-Region catcher. Jake Little was selected to the Second Team All-Region as an outfielder and the All-Defensive Team, while Jackson Cionek also earned a spot on the All-Defensive Team as a catcher, highlighting the Stingers' strength on both sides of the ball.
A defining moment of the season came on March 6, when Jackson Mullen delivered a perfect game against USC Salkehatchie. His historic performance earned him National Pitcher of the Week honors (March 1–7) and helped secure Region Pitcher of the Year recognition. Mullen's dominance on the mound was a cornerstone of the Stingers' success.
Other members of the pitching staff received significant recognition as well, with Elijah Sanders named First Team All-Region starting pitcher and Bryson Harper earning First Team honors as a relief pitcher.
With a record-setting regular season complete, Florence-Darlington now turns its focus to the postseason. The Stingers will open playoff action Friday at 7 p.m., facing the winner of USC Salkehatchie and USC Sumter as they look to continue their remarkable season.
