Tech Softball Continues to Reach High Marks

The Tech Stingers finished their 2010 season with some new high marks. The team finished the region regular season with a 23-13 record and another third place finish in NJCAA Region X. Florence Darlington Tech finished the regular season behind Pitt CC and Louisburg College in North Carolina. For the regular season, FDTC finished as the number one SC team in NJCAA Region X. In the region tournament, Tech’s bats went cold and resulted in 1 win and 2 losses. The results in the tournament took the win-loss record to 24-15. With a new regular season win-loss record and recognition as the NJCAA Top 20 Best Team Batting average at .354, the season was marked as a success. The team had three players receive top honors as NJCAA All Region Team members and one player receiving nominations for NJCAA Academic All American Team. This year’s team had only two sophomores and will be returning nine players to the 2011 Team. With experienced talent and eager recruits coming into the program, the Tech Softball program remains a favorite for the coming year.
