Florence Darlington Advances Two

Florence Darlington Tech (FDTC) announces the advancement of two of it’s seniors to four year universities. First basemen/ catcher, Blair Warren and shortstop, Jessica Hogan has accepted athletic scholarships to play for The University of South Carolina at Aiken (USCA) and Frances Marion University (FMU). Blair will be playing in Aiken for Coach Jerry Snyder next year and Jessica will continue in Florence, but will be playing for Coach Stacey Vallee at FMU.

Both of these athletes will be missed at FDTC. Jessica had a batting average or .407 with a fielding % of .931 and Blair batted .437% and had a fielding % of .950. Coach Amber Harvey and Heber Watson relied on their leadership when times became tough and will truly miss their bats in the lineup next year. Jessica received first team NJCAA All Region X Team award and Blair lead the team as a utility player, playing right field, first base, and catcher.

Blair and Jessica are the only two players from last year’s third place team (NJCAA Region X ) that will continue to play softball at four year institutions. We wish them much success with their accomplishments in the classroom and on the field of competition!
