Tech Stingers Begin Inaugural Season This Weekend

The Tech Stingers Women's softball team and Men's baseball team will take to their home fields Saturday and Sunday to kick off their first seasons of collegiate athletics at Florence-Darlington Technical College. The Stinger men will play Saturday at Florence American Legion Field on Saturday February 12, 2005 at 1 p.m. The men will face Walters State.

The Stinger women will play their first game the following day at Freedom Florence with a double header against Spartanburg Methodist. The first game is at 3 p.m.

The Athletic Department will hold a Stingers Tailgate Party, sponsored by Chick-Fil-A, beginning at 11:30 a.m. Buy your tailgate tickets from Kathy Mudge at 8002, Rob Cooksey at 8007 or Carmen Carter at 8081. For $6, tailgaters receive a Chick-Fil-A sandwich, chips, chocolate chip cookie and drink. Entry to both the women's and men's home games is free to all Tech students, faculty and staff with a current College ID.
