Cheraw Baseball Player Signs with Tech Stingers

Cheraw High School baseball stand out Johnathan Gainey signed his National Letter of Intent to play for the Tech Stinger men’s baseball team in a brief ceremony today in the Florence-Darlington Technical College Admissions Office. The outfielder was joined at the signing table by his parents Angela and Ty Gainey.

Gainey is in the top 20 of Palmetto State baseball prospects and was named as the most outstanding player at the recent Southeastern Baseball Classic Tournament in Hartsville. He becomes the eighth player to sign for the Tech Stingers. Gainey’s Cheraw teammate will also join the Stinger. Brian Campbell signed his National Letter of Intent to play last week.
