Florence-Darlington Technical Sends Second Baseball Player to Four year College
Florence-Darlington Tech Stinger Nathan Mangiapane has become the second FDTC baseball player to sign with a four year college. The Stinger’s starting catcher will attend Lander University in Greenwood, SC in the fall.
Mangiapane was third for the Stingers in total hits during the club’s first season last spring with a .353 batting average. He spent last summer playing for Morganton, North Carolina in the Southern Intercollegiate League and made the all-star team. Stinger Head Coach Curtis Hudson called Mangiapane, “a good defensive catcher and a natural leader.”
Mangiapane hails from Coral Springs, Florida where he attended Highlands Christian Academy and won honorable mention to the 2004 All-State baseball team.
