Tech Stinger Men Split Last Home Games
The Florence-Darlington Tech Stinger men kept heir overall record this past weekend splitting double headers with Pitt Community College. The weekend series and last home games of the inaugural season puts the Stingers at 22-19 and even in District X region of the National Junior College Athletics Association (NJCAA) at14-14. The Stingers won their first game Saturday, but lost the night cap to the Pitt men. On, Sunday the Stingers fell 7-6 but came back for a win in the second game, 9-5 featuring a two run homer by Julius Dixon in the fifth inning.
The men will be on the road for a series of away games. Tournament action begins in May 11, 2005 in Spartanburg. Team Advisor Rob Cooksey would like to thank Ken and Leslie Malachowsky for manning the ticket table at the ballpark gate and supporting Tech athletics.
