Why should I attend Florence-Darlington Tech?
FDTC offers small classes with individual attention, student support and tutoring services, and a wide range of academic programs. As a student-athlete, you will have the opportunity to step in and play right away without sitting on the bench for two years. This will help you improve your athletic skills and make you more attractive to four-year institutions.
What Conference do you play in?
Florence-Darlington Tech is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), Division I, Region X. The Region consists of schools in North and South Carolina, as well as Virginia.
Are college scholarships available?
As standard in most colleges, many forms of financial aid may be available for the student-athlete, but it is based on individual financial circumstances. There are college scholarships available and governed through the college Athletic Department.
Will my classes transfer to a four-year college?
Florence-Darlington Tech is a two-year institution that is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award associate degrees. Therefore, most classes will transfer to any four-year school.
What kind of softball field do you have?
As the inaugural season gets underway, the Tech softball squad will practice and play their games at Freedom Florence off Freedom Drive in southeast Florence. The facility is one of the south's premier softball complexes which host more than thirty AAU and High School tournaments each year.
What kind of baseball field do you have?
As the inaugural season gets underway, the Tech baseball squad will practice and play their games at Legion Field, former home of the Single A Toronto Blue Jays in the mid 80's. The facility seats approximately 2,500 with 500 seats being chair back, along with a full-scale concession stand for fans in attendance. Legion Field has state of the art "Triple A level" lights to allow night games and practices, in ground dugouts, and a upgraded sprinkler system to keep the surface in great playing shape. There is also a batting cage located down the right field line behind the Picnic area.
