Amber Watson Harvey - Assistant Coach

Amber Watson Harvey, a native of Hartsville, South Carolina has been hired as the assistant coach for the softball program at Florence Darlington Technical College. She is a 2005 graduate of North Greenville College, located in Tigerville, South Carolina, where she was a four year starter for the Lady Crusaders.
Before attending North Greenville College, she played basketball, volleyball and softball for the Lady Foxes of Hartsville High School. In softball, she played first base and was second in the batting order. As a senior she was voted "Miss Softball", and led her team to the South Carolina Lower State High School Championship game.
After signing basketball and softball scholarships at North Greenville College, she played both sports her freshmen year. After her first year, Amber decided that softball was her sport of choice and devoted the remainder of her time to softball and to her studies. While at North Greenville College, she received the Outstanding Freshmen Award and the Best Offensive Player Award. To cap off four successful years at North Greenville College, she was voted to the NCCAA All Region Team.
Although sports have always been a major part of her life, Amber excelled in the classroom, as well. She graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. During the next few years, she plans on continuing her education in pursuit of her Master’s degree in Counseling.
Amber is married to Jamie Doss Harvey, of Florence, South Carolina. She is the daughter of Heber and Rebecca Watson of Hartsville. For many years, it has been her dream of coaching with her father. She hopes that his mentoring will help her gain the experience necessary to match his success in coaching and teaching. In pursuing her dream, she credits her high school coaches, Jeff Calabrese and Pat Hewitt, for their interest in her and the examples that were set to assist her in reaching her goals in life.
